Amanda's attentiveness and extraordinary compassion helped this patient feel that she was safe with us and could confide in our staff to take care of her.
Amanda has gone above and beyond to show compassion to one of our patients and truly changed this patient's life. Her consistent support and dedication have shown this patient that she has value and given her a new outlook on her self-worth.
We took care of her during one of the most difficult times of her life when she was coming out of a very abusive situation, and Amanda's attentiveness and extraordinary compassion helped this patient feel that she was safe with us and could confide in our staff to take care of her. When speaking with this patient, she told me how much he valued Amanda as her nurse and how her support allowed her to come forward and speak about what she had gone through, entrusting that she would be taken seriously and felt safe enough to do so.

Amanda's care and compassion for this patient were above and beyond (like most of Amanda's work). Amanda took the time to talk to this patient and form a trust with her. This patient was here for 60+ days and came from a bad situation that made her very anxious and scared of whom to trust. Amanda would print out pictures of the doctors and hang them in the patient's room, and write "good" under them as a reminder to the patient that when this doctor came in, she was safe and could trust that person. This patient would order from Amazon and Amanda would hunt down the package from all over the place to make sure she got what she ordered. I know if it were not for Amanda, this patient would not have felt comfortable with any of us, and it would have delayed her care. Amanda also contacted Project Search because she had talked to the patient about the future and what types of jobs she could get. Project Search came and spoke to the patient, but because they are a high school program, they could not take the patient into that program. However, provided another program for the patient after discharge. Amanda would hold her hand, take deep breaths with her, and was so patient and kind when she was having panic attacks. I am sure there is way more that Amanda has done for her and just did not tell anyone. I would love to see Amanda get some sort of recognition for her outstanding patient care.
