As the leader of her team working with the [customer] client, Dawn works tirelessly to ensure that patient safety remains a top priority. She fosters transparent communication with both her Oracle Cerner team and the client, which is essential for creating a culture of safety. No task is too big or too small for Dawn to tackle, especially when it impacts [customer] care. She consistently puts the [customer] at the center of all her efforts and is never afraid to have the critical conversations necessary for maintaining high standards in quality and safety. Her unwavering dedication to this mission has led to the development of innovative ways to embed a patient safety focus into the project's work.

Key Achievements:

Dawn was instrumental in establishing the Patient Safety Command Center, securing dedicated quality and patient safety resources, and uniting previously disparate teams. A key success during the [customer location] Go-Live was her advocacy for integrating patient safety flagged tickets into the daily leadership report. This collaborative effort between the [customer]'s National Center for Patient Safety, Informatics Patient Safety, local and VISN Patient Safety teams, and Cerner's Patient Safety Team was a major milestone in the [customer] Project. The initiative involved reconciling [customer] Patient Safety Reports with Cerner tickets in real-time and reporting them out daily, further advancing patient safety initiatives.

From this foundation, Dawn has designed a program that integrates the Oracle Patient Safety Team into every aspect of the [customer]'s quality and safety approach.

Now, as she works to implement this same programmatic approach with the additional [customer] programs, Dawn's vision extends beyond this market. She envisions a methodology that can be expanded to commercial and global clients.

Always On Call: Dawn is never off the clock. She understands that patient care is continuous, and when a safety event occurs, she is the first to respond. She takes immediate action to engage and execute. Dawn knows that a truly safe healthcare environment requires addressing people, processes, and technology. She works relentlessly to improve each of these areas.

Leadership in Culture: Dawn models psychological safety and a just culture within her Oracle Cerner team and in every interaction she has. When issues arise, she does not assign blame but instead seeks the root cause to determine a preventive plan. She encourages the team to move beyond quick "band-aid" fixes and focus on the larger process and cultural challenges that contributed to the event. Through her tireless efforts, Dawn helps others recognize that this approach improves not just the products and services but also benefits healthcare partners and patients in the long run.
