The chest pain team created goals and action plans in order to meet the chest pain accreditation standards set by the American College of Cardiology (ACC). The team collaborated and worked to educate both Emergency Department staff and physicians to improve times for EKG within 10 minutes. When the surveyor came for the site visit, it was reported that our EKG times were some of the top 3 she had seen in her career. This is a true testament to the dedication of our chest pain team and the ED staff in order to make Shelbyville the place where people in the community turn to when they are experiencing chest pain.
