Jennifer checked on me even on days that Jennifer was not my nurse, and I felt like there was somebody actively looking out for me the entire time that I was at the hospital.
I was admitted to BIDMC after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest at age 27 and spent approximately one week on Klarman 9. Jennifer conducted my initial intake from the emergency room and ultimately oversaw my discharge as the nurse. Throughout my stay, Jennifer was like another mother figure, both to me and to my family, during what was an incredibly shocking, confusing, and stressful time. Jennifer did an excellent job educating us on what had happened to me and what to expect from tests and the ICD placement. Jennifer provided emotional support as I came to terms with what had happened, but she also didn't rush me to feel better right away; instead, she acknowledged the gravity of what had happened.

Jennifer encouraged me as I attempted to independently do small tasks that felt very daunting at the time, such as putting on my clothes. As my physical and mental energy fluctuated throughout my stay, Jennifer matched it with lots of empathy and made me feel safe. Jennifer checked on me even on days that Jennifer was not my nurse, and I felt like there was somebody actively looking out for me the entire time that I was at the hospital. The circumstances around my hospital admission were very unexpected and scary, and Jennifer's care throughout it made a world of difference! Thank you to the rest of Klarman 9 as well. What a fantastic team!
