Her mentorship style fosters growth and confidence among her peers, helping them develop both their clinical skills and compassion for patients.
I am honored to nominate Esther for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Leader. Throughout her tenure at 20Tower, Esther has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to patient care, professional development, and team building, distinguishing herself as a remarkable nursing leader. Esther's passion for mentoring is evident in her efforts to support her colleagues. She regularly organizes informal learning sessions and workshops, breaking down complex concepts into understandable components. Her mentorship style fosters growth and confidence among her peers, helping them develop both their clinical skills and compassion for patients.
One standout example of her leadership occurred when a new nurse was struggling with patient assessments on the busy oncology unit. Recognizing her anxiety, Esther personally reached out to provide one-on-one guidance. Through encouragement and support, Esther helped the new nurse gain confidence and improve her skills. This positive experience inspired the new nurse to assist others, creating a ripple effect of support within the team. In addition to mentoring, Esther actively seeks ways to enhance patient care processes and advocate for patients and staff. She collaborates with different departments to implement best practices, emphasizing teamwork and interdisciplinary cooperation.
For all these reasons, I believe Esther exemplifies the qualities of an extraordinary nurse leader deserving of the DAISY Award. Her leadership and dedication to mentorship not only inspire her colleagues but also enhance the nursing profession as a whole.
