I would like to nominate Karuna. Karuna has been with MLK for years and is an example of a great nurse. She is not only an excellent resource for our newer nurses, but also for our unit. She is a great asset to the CUSs as well. She exemplifies what it means to be a competent and caring nurse. She is always professional and is willing to give a helping hand when needed. She has recently graduated as a skin champion and also does relief CUS. She exemplifies what it means to be a team player. She always has a great attitude, and we are extremely lucky to have her on our floor. She truly is what the DAISY Award represents, she cares for every patient with compassion, efficiency, and competence. Staff and patients love her. She is deserving of this award. She has recently graduated with her BSN to further enhance her nursing practice and is looking into the clinical ladder as well to specialize within her craft.
