Lovie has been exceptional in being a role model for our Mission and Values, and while I can think of many examples of Lovie demonstrating compassion in his role, it showed most as he prioritized that above all else as he overcame adversity this past year. Lovie returned in January after being gone for almost six months, with many new teammates, along with a new FA, and DQI was not in a good spot. He had teammates who were making things difficult for him, had to adapt to new initiatives, help grow the clinic culture, and overcome staffing opportunities, all while having to significantly improve clinical outcomes quickly. No matter the priority, none came before taking care of our patients. In every decision that went into the day, the week, the month, he always factored in the patients first. He came with great ideas to Core Team Meetings, collaborated with doctors, helped develop the team and culture, and in each interaction would emphasize how important it was that we grow to take care of our patients. His dedication and compassion resonated with the entire team, and then we started to see our clinical outcome performance climb, our patients were noticeably healthier and happier, and he was rewarded with our Shining Star Award. For Lovie, demonstrating compassion isn't an occasional occurrence, but his walk of life that he provides daily to our patients.
