My mother was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and on Monday, she had her first infusion/chemo treatment. As you can imagine my mom and I were both nervous of what to expect (even though we didn't want to show it). In came Kimberly H., our registered nurse for the day, and from the moment she came in, you could feel her good/positive energy, and she soon took all those nerves away as we knew we were in the best hands. Kim was very thorough, calming and truly an angel on earth. We were there for 4 hours since it was the first visit and it was more than pleasant and time flew by because of the way Kim made us feel, you almost forget why you are really there. My mom and I believe people come into your life for a reason and at specific times, through good and bad, and Kimberly was meant to cross our paths on that very day. There were so many similarities between the three of us that we couldn't believe it. When I say it was surreal in the most amazing way, that is an understatement. Before my mom's treatment was completed, I rushed to the front desk to request Kim again for my mom's 2nd chemo/infusion appointment. I know it can't be guaranteed, but it would be greatly appreciated and a nice early Christmas gift for both my mom and me.

This journey so far has been a lot for my family in such a short period of time, but we all remain positive each and every day. My mom has been a trooper, and I am very proud of her. When you can come across people like Kim, it takes away the worry and feelings while you are in her presence, even if it is for a short few hours. I can't say enough about her, there aren't many people that possess the energy, compassion, empathy, overall demeanor, and kind heart that Kim does. It is a treasure and a unique gem when found, and Kim is just that! Thank you, Kim, from the bottom of my mom and my hearts...you have a special place in our hearts forever and hope to see you again at our next appointment and beyond.
