Established in July 2023, the Night Shift Shared Governance Council is a committed group of seven nurses representing diverse units across Rancho Los Amigos. Formed to address the longstanding underrepresentation of night shift staff, this nurse-led council has spearheaded meaningful initiatives—such as the 24-hour check process and the snack box program—that have significantly enhanced patient safety, streamlined workflows, and supported staff well-being. Through their strong advocacy for inclusion and professional growth, the council has raised the visibility of night shift nurses, advanced Rancho's mission, vision, and Nursing Strategic Plan, and fostered a more collaborative, supportive, and high-performing care environment.
