Kim was assigned to care for my husband, Ron, throughout a good part of his stay at Marianjoy. She was very conscientious in making sure everything about his nursing care was done right. Two things really stand out.

First, my husband needed to switch hearing aids because one of his own stopped working, and he needed loaners. She went out of her way to document the change on his board and informed other nurses. In the meantime, one of the loaners went missing. She was gone for the next three days, and when she returned and found out one of the loaners went missing, she made the time to help look for it. While it wasn’t located until later, it was that she cared enough to look for it.

The second is that I told several nurses that my husband cannot handle medicine on an empty stomach. Kim is the first one to take this to heart and made sure Ron didn’t get any medication until he had food. It made for a better day for him. And any concern I had during his stay, she took time to listen, and I felt heard.
