It is with great admiration and deep appreciation that I nominate the Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI) Nurse and Corpsman Team for the DAISY Team Award, in recognition of their unwavering dedication, cohesive teamwork, and exceptional patient-centered care. The NASNI Nurse and Corpsman team consistently go above and beyond to meet the complex and evolving needs of our active duty population. Whether delivering care in Primary Care, Immunizations, Flight Medicine, or administrative and readiness roles, this team operates with unmatched professionalism, compassion, and mission focus. Their ability to collaborate across departments, support one another, and keep the patient at the center of everything they do truly distinguishes them.

This team not only excels individually, but thrives collectively. They communicate seamlessly, adapt to rapidly changing patient volumes and operational requirements, and maintain a culture of mutual respect and shared responsibility. Whether responding to urgent walk-ins, executing mass immunization efforts, or navigating high-tempo deployment readiness cycles, they never lose sight of the human element behind the uniform. One shining example of their teamwork was demonstrated during a recent medical emergency in the clinic. A patient experiencing an anaphylactic reaction was immediately supported by members from Immunizations, Primary Care, and support staff. Without hesitation, the team sprang into action, coordinating care, activating emergency response protocols, and ensuring the patient’s safety through calm, skilled, and compassionate collaboration. Each member knew their role and executed it flawlessly, demonstrating what true teamwork looks like under pressure.

Beyond clinical excellence, the NASNI team fosters an environment where junior Sailors are mentored, new staff are welcomed, and every member feels valued. They model the Navy’s core values—honor, courage, and commitment—while carrying out their duties with empathy and pride.
