My daughter L was a patient first on 6th floor ICU and then 7th floor ICU. All of the medical staff on both of these floors provided excellent care while she was there. Swedish Hospital First Hill should be commended for the Nursing staff they have in the ICUs. However, Keeley really went above and beyond with her nursing care. Keeley demonstrated a high level of intelligence about the care L needed for her condition. Keeley was very intuitive as labs changed, and signs and symptoms of her disease progressed. She was quick to respond and alter or change the care L needed for her illness. L did catch Keeley a little off guard one day when she started to tell her about the recent domestic violence situation she experienced. Keeley gave her full attention as L told her of her situation. For the first time in a while, I could see that Keeley's discussion with L made her feel safe. After that, Keeley and the entire staff provided the privacy and safety L needed to step away from her living situation. Keeley made sure my son and I were provided with all the vital information about L's care and answered all the questions that we had. Keeley's care did not stop with L. She, along with the rest of the staff, always made sure my son was watching out for our health. Keeley has definitely found her calling as a knowledgeable and compassionate ICU nurse. Any patient who has Keeley as their nurse is guaranteed to receive the best care possible.
