There is not one situation that can describe the impact Cassandra Walton has had on me and so many other Nurses in CPS. But before that, know that she has been at the same school for years, fighting for her students. Her commitment to her school is amazing. She educates, advocates, fundraises, fights, and always shows up for her students and staff.

Her integrity and compassion know no bounds. She is the heart of her school community and utilizes the surrounding resources in the community to support her students. Now, to talk about Cassandra as a peer is intense. Cassandra is a wealth of knowledge. I have been at this for 14 years, go-to, and she is still a go to resource when I cannot figure a case out or need support.

Seriously-she is whip smart! Her spirit of collaboration is amazing. She is a fierce fighter and cheerleader for her fellow Nurses. Her Compassion, Inclusion, Integrity, and fierce intelligence make her the top nominee in all of Chicago Public Schools for the Daisy Award. She is the Nurses Nurse. This honor is long overdue.
