BMH is lucky to have her, I wish I had had all five of my children at BMH because of Hope.
My husband and I had our fifth and final child at BMH Birthing Center. I chose an elective induction because our surprise gender baby kept flipping between breech and head down. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Hope! I had met her once before at the desk due to weekly NST’s. Hope was remarkable the second we arrived; she took us to our L&D room, which was prepared for us. She had an instant connection with both my husband and me.

Hope is extremely knowledgeable, sweet, but most importantly, has the best sense of humor. Hope was with us through my entire labor and delivery on 9/9/24. The amount of time she was not with us during her shift was very minimal, she spent so much time chatting and laughing with me through contractions. I’m terrified of the epidural needle. Hope comforted, supported, and laughed with my husband and me through the process of having it placed. If I had any questions, she always had the answer. Hope was attentive to my every need or wish during that day.

Right around 5:50 pm, I told Hope, I’m over this, that I needed this baby to be born. Her reply was, “Most times when mothers say that their baby is about to be born.” Our first daughter, after four sons, our daughter was born at 5:58 pm! Hope was right! She held my hand while our daughter was being delivered and continued to support me with words of encouragement. My husband helped deliver our daughter!

Hope's shift ended at 7 pm. I was sad to see her leave, but she let us know she was working the next day and that she would, at the very least, stop by to say hello and see the baby. Much to my excitement, Hope was made our nurse again on 9/10/24. I was having my tubes removed that day, and was a bit apprehensive as I hadn’t had many surgeries.

Again, Hope’s reassurance is what got me through. She took me down to pre op and was right there to pick me up when I woke up from my surgery. She had food waiting for me and everything on my arrival back to the room. The impact Hope made in every single thing she did during those two days was filled with compassion. I can’t thank her enough. I will forever be grateful for the kindness and friendship she showed my husband and me those two days. She’s a true angel on earth. BMH is lucky to have her, I wish I had had all five of my children at BMH because of Hope.
