During one of the most challenging times for my family, we were fortunate to have Nurse Ellen Gong care for my mom at Kaiser Permanente Sunset LAMC after her admission for CHF and severe anemia. When Ellen stepped into my mom's room, her upbeat and compassionate demeanor reassured us that we were in the best hands. Ellen was amazing. She explained everything in an easy way for my mother to understand, ensuring she felt informed and empowered. Her meticulous attention to detail in managing my mom's condition and her ability to anticipate needs went above and beyond what we could have hoped for. But what truly sets Ellen apart is her humanity. She truly cares! She truly cares for her patients as people and has a tremendous vested interest in their health and well-being. She took the time to connect with my mom, treating her with dignity, patience, and warmth. Whether it was offering a kind word, making her laugh, or simply holding her hand during moments of uncertainty, Ellen brought a sense of comfort that no medicine could provide.

Ellen's dedication didn't stop with my mom. She extended that same compassion to the other patients sharing the room and myself. She answered our questions amazingly, addressed our concerns, and supported us emotionally when we needed it most. Laughter really is the best medicine! Kaiser Permanente is incredibly fortunate to have a nurse like Ellen Gong on its team. She is the very best of what healthcare should be: skilled, empathetic, and wholeheartedly dedicated to her patients. Our family will forever be grateful for her care, and I hope her outstanding service is recognized widely.
