Marie has had multiple inpatient hospice patients recently. She always gives her all to the patients and their family members. I have personally seen the interaction the family has with Marie during the patients' time in hospice and once they have passed away. They hugged her, crying and thanking her for everything she had done for them and the patient. Whenever she needs to speak up and advocate for what is best for the patient, she never hesitates. The last death she experienced was hard on her, but she wanted to see the patient through until the end, she stayed a little past her shift ending to do post mortem care and make sure that he was cared for properly in the end. The family members and the patients are able to have the most calm and serene experience inpatient can offer due to Marie's personality and nursing approach. The end of life is scary; she shows up for the patient and their families. She takes pride in her job, which you can see in her work.
