I eagerly awaited her return each day, I knew she would be there.
Melissa watched over me all three days that I was there, and her kindness, support, and empathy made my stay that much better! This was my second recent stay in the hospital, and I was nervous, uncertain, and losing hope, so Melissa’s daily smile and encouragement made me, and my family, feel hope again and look forward to seeing her the next day! She was always there when I needed her. I’m pretty sure she stayed late to ensure my needs were met, and I even saw her early one day. That day, once she got on the floor, she immediately came in and helped me get cleaned up and clean the bedsheets. Because she knew I’d had a rough night.

Melissa went above and beyond during my recent hospitalization. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and feeling the best I could be. She was kind and thoughtful, and I truly enjoyed her companionship during my stay. I eagerly awaited her return each day, I knew she would be there. She truly made my stay enjoyable, safe, and healthy.

As a 20+ year physical therapist in an acute care setting, Melissa and I immediately connected in the care of my 91-year-old Dad during an 8-day hospital stay. My Dad loved Melissa as she just came to the room and chatted as though he were her family, gave simple and great instructions, and came alongside me to work as a team to mobilize my Dad. She was always there with something we needed, whether it was coffee or a longer oxygen cord or a warming blanket or a menu when my dad was ready to start eating. She always knew our needs before we did and went above and beyond to provide comfort and safety.
When my dad got down because his discharge was delayed one day, I relied on her to lift his spirits, and she did with a Pepsi. Melissa was my Dad’s RN for 5 days during his stay, and it was such a relief and brought true happiness to my dad each day she walked in the room. God answered our prayers when he sent Melissa to care for my dad during his hospitalization.
