I encountered Amber during a hospital stay after a diagnosis and surgery for appendicitis. For example, she responded to my call light for any need within one minute. She never left without asking if there was anything else I, my husband, or my parents needed. She wasn’t afraid to jump in and help me change my clothes or assist me to the bathroom, even with my husband available. Her clinical expertise was evident in how she handled all of my care and needs with medical questions, medication education, and post-op education, and her compassion was shown through her smile and encouraging words.
