Jess has a positive attitude from the moment she walks in the door each day. This example specifically is not an isolated event, but rather one that exemplifies her willingness to go above and beyond without a second thought on a day-to-day basis.

A critical patient who was so sick that they were unable to leave the hospital to marry his now wife had a marriage arranged quickly in one day at the bedside. The patient in this story was not even Jessica’s that day, but she assisted in a truly remarkable way. As this process was so rushed, there was no time for the family to obtain a wedding dress. Jess had the brilliant idea to makeshift a wedding dress out of a clean white bed sheet that looked so real it could fool you at first glance. The bride wore it and flaunted it for the entire day. Her efforts to make magic happen at a truly hard time for the family express the exact qualities of what someone who wears a DAISY should have. She brought joy and happiness to a family in a time of great need far beyond what would have been expected. I feel that it's hard to express in words the euphoria in the air that she brought about that day. To stand there and witness it firsthand could bring a tear to your eye.

From her expertise to her wit, desire to make us feel informed, less anxious, and yes, even laughing at hospital life, Jessica was great! So encouraged, cared for, and educated. She is exceptional. We are thankful to God that she was with us part of the time in the Neuroscience ICU.
