Our family has been caring for my uncle for over 6 months while he's had several visits to Doctors Regional. We've been impressed with the care and attention he receives every time he visits. When I say our experience with a nurse is exceptional, it's compared to a bar that has already been set high by amazing nurses at the hospital. Erin is exceptionally good at balancing professionalism, compassion, and communication. While caring for a challenging patient, she has continuously maintained a steady, focused demeanor while being pleasant and communicating effectively. She has been pleasant and encouraging, even when our situation does not look good. During every visit to our room, she clearly communicates to both the patient and family what is she is doing and why. She has had an answer for every question we've asked. She clearly pays attention to details and communicates effectively with physicians and specialists. She's always on top of what she's doing. While I have witnessed this time and again, a particular example took place today when our family member needed his bed changed. To be brief, it was unpleasant, challenging, and not for the faint of heart. Erin was unfazed. She directed help clearly and effectively while maintaining focus on our family member who needed to be cleaned and cared for. She clearly knew how to handle the situation and how to direct help so that his pain was minimized. She went the extra mile to ensure sores were properly treated and our family member was cleaned and comfortable.

Furthermore, she communicated concerns to the rest of the care team. I have seen similar situations handled by other facilities, so I know what it looks like when a nurse really cares about doing a job well and caring for a patient. Even though he has declining cognitive ability, my uncle acknowledged that her care has been particularly good. While we've struggled to get him to eat, he readily responds when she asks him to.

In addition to exceptional care and attention for her patient, Erin has taken time to make sure our family has the resources and information we need. That is all too uncommon in healthcare, but Erin seems to pull it all off without dropping a beat. Our family truly appreciates the care Erin has shown. In a facility where exceptional nursing seems to be the standard, she has really stood out and made a difference in our lives. Thank You!
