Renee is a caring and compassionate nurse who completely emanates what it means to be a DAISY recipient. She had a mom who did not have much and was supposed to leave that day when her blood pressure became elevated, and she was informed she would have to stay longer for health concerns. She was very upset and told Renee that one of the reasons why she did not want to stay was that they did not have the gas money to drive back and forth, as her husband went back home to check on their kids and then back to the hospital. Renee then set the patient and her husband up with resources to provide a gas card. Renee truly deserves the DAISY Award for going above and beyond for this family.
