I first met Nurse Megan at Berkshire Medical Center BMC in Oct 2024 while she cared for my mother. One could not help but be taken in by her genuine warmth and infectious smile. While so many of the doctors and nurses at BMC took great care of my mother, I truly appreciated Megan’s kindness, compassion, and commitment to patient care. I’m sure being a nurse in intensive care must be a high-stress type of job. I can’t imagine the amount of pressure these nurses are under. Megan had such a calming presence that we never saw that side of it. Megan took care of my mom with such enthusiasm. Her boundless energy was also refreshing and most welcome to my sisters and I as we were a bit drained and overwhelmed in having our mom in ICU for such an extended period. In addition to the exemplary care provided, she also presented my mom with a little handmade bunny to cheer her up. Whenever I see that little bunny, it brings a smile to my face as I recall what a blessing it was to meet her. We so appreciate Megan for sharing her professional talents and love of nursing with my mom and our entire family. As such, I would like to nominate nurse Megan Best for a DAISY Award. I thank you for the opportunity to do so. I hope she can be recognized for not only saving lives - but also for changing them with her positive attitude and gentle spirit.
