I came into the hospital for a Tikosyn load. I was to have prescriptions filled by Rex Pharmacy upon discharge. I was not told in any of the preadmission instructions that I would need a credit card or cash to pay for the drugs before they were dispensed and before I was discharged. I was in a quandary. I did not have my credit card with me and did not have enough cash to pay for the drugs that I would need before my drugstore opened on Monday. Christi gave me the money to make up the difference of what cash I had so I could be discharged. She did not ask for repayment, offering it as a gift! It was indeed a gift, and I repaid her when my friend came to pick me up to go home. Her act of kindness and generosity meant so much more. Christi represented the best of total patient care and represented Rex in a positive light. Thank you, Christi! Your act of generosity was so much appreciated.
