I was screaming "help me", and much of the experience was a blur, but I remember Kevin. He kept saying, "I'm here, man, I've got you". He was like a raft or a buoy in the middle of a raging, boiling ocean of pain and delirium. He helped me when it felt like no one could. There were apparently meds that helped calm me down, but more than anything, he gave me a warm blanket when I was freezing in sweat. I think that's when I finally fell asleep. That was the most frightening and painful experience of my life, but that man cared for me when I must have ruined his night. I'm on the other side now and doing much better in recovery, but I won't ever forget the compassion Kevin provided for me. It would be a crime for him not to know how much he helped me that harrowing night
