Jessenia went above and beyond for the patient we cared for while she was my preceptor. The patient has advanced dementia and cannot really advocate for themselves. Jessenia was able to make sure that the discharge needs were met by communicating diligently with the care team, including the physicians, social worker, and the employees of the assisted living facility where the patient was going to be discharged. She was very instrumental in this discharge, overcoming many obstacles. Jessenia did very well advocating for the patient who was not really able to communicate their needs while also being my preceptor at the same time. I think that says a lot about Jessenia's qualities as a very dedicated nurse to her patients. She is well deserving of the DAISY Award!
