Kati has proved herself time and time again through her FIRST year as an RN. She is a fantastic advocate for her patients and has made some great catches that could have easily been missed. Kati has been a joy to have on our team, and she brings so much fun to the unit. Kati caught a major problem with her patient, complete new occlusion of the radial and ulnar arteries. The patient was brought in for emergency surgery, but without this catch, the patient could have lost her hand. Kudos to Kati for her attention to detail in her assessments. Kati also recently alerted the CTS providers about a patient whose oxygen needs were rapidly INCREASING. She advocated all day for the patient to get a CT scan, which revealed several pulmonary embolisms. This patient went from walking and talking during the day to intubated and on multiple vasopressors that evening. Fantastic work!
