Jade did an exceptional job of recognizing cues in her patient. She responded appropriately by calling a Rapid Response and stayed with the patient while the team addressed the issue. The patient was in ESKD and had been getting morphine, which accumulated in her system, resulting in neurologic changes. The patient ended up needing to get Narcan.

The nurse working with that patient told me how impressed she was with how Jade handled the situation, stating that she knew so much about the patient, as she had her the day prior, and was able to provide information the nurse was not aware of.

After the patient had stabilized, I had the opportunity to talk with her patient and she was tearful when expressing how much she appreciated how Jade cared for her during what she described as a traumatic experience. She spoke at length about how she felt like Jade saved her life. I was so proud of how Jade handled the situation and how she cared for her patient during such a difficult time. She stayed calm and prioritized care and compassion.
