Two trauma doctors wanted Harold Hill to be recognized for his excellent patient care and assessment skills. He was medicating a patient for a severe headache. This patient vomited after receiving this medication, and he didn't think the vomiting was due to the medication but rather a worsening TBI. A repeat CT scan revealed worsening bleeding in the brain, and the patient went for an emergent craniotomy. Harold was transporting the patient to the ICU when the doctor told him he needed to be transported to the OR for STAT surgery. He then transported the patient to the OR, where the staff advised they were not ready for the patient, so Harold stayed with the patient for continuous monitoring until the OR staff were ready to start the procedure. Trauma providers believe he helped save this patient's life.
