From the moment we checked in for our scheduled induction, we felt at ease with Jess; she was calm and kind throughout the entire check-in and getting settled. Not only that, but our induction progressed very very fast and she advocated for me at every step. When we got close to delivery, she provided support to me mentally and by standing at my side, talking me through everything, and at every intense moment, she was a voice of reason. Even though it moved so fast our doula didn’t make the delivery, I felt very comforted by Jess and knew that along with our doctors she was helping make important medical decisions with my best interest at top of mind.

Most importantly, not only was I lucky enough to have her during delivery, but she stayed with me postpartum and through a very scary moment when I experienced postpartum hemorrhage. I mentioned feeling a lot of blood, and Jess quickly but calmly sprang into action, taking care of me and calling my doctor to address the situation. She stood by my side and held my hand at the bedside while they took care of me and didn’t waver once in her care. I was extremely impressed by Jess’s demeanor and intelligence at every single step of my care at JSUMC. Thanks to her, we welcomed a beautiful baby boy safely and were discharged, happy and healthy, to our toddler daughter at home. Thank you, Jess! We will remember you as part of our story forever!
