There was a 23-year-old mom who had delivered the day before. This was not Tessa's patient this day, but Tessa had been in the patient's room several times throughout the shift. This patient had some level of MR, Head Lice, and Bed Bugs. Patient's hair was completely matted to the back of her head, and Tessa spent 4 hours in full PPE brushing her matted hair and picking nits out of the patient's hair. This wasn't even her patient. The level of compassion and care that she showed to this sweet mom was superb. She went above and beyond to help this mom and make her feel like she was a priority and important. This is what nursing is all about, making a difference in every life you come in contact with, even when it seems. GO TESSA!!
