Tykia is a phenomenal nurse. She is teamwork, she is always the first to jump in and help regardless of how difficult the task may be.
We had a declining patient, and it was not her assignment. The nurse who did have the assignment was clearly exhausted and needed a break from the extremely difficult assignment. However, you could tell that nurse didn't want to place such a responsibility on a coworker. But she stepped in and took over no questions asked and encouraged her coworker to “at least eat and regroup”. She assured her that she had it.

That entire night, as well as many others she showed up and continues to show up for her coworkers. She leaves whatever she may have going on, in the parking garage, and shows up to the end for this unit every shift. This type of teamwork is rare and her hard work and dedication make me show up and work harder every day. She is a true inspiration and blessing to our floor.
