I think that Emily is special because she is so empathetic. Emily understood how sad I was to be in the hospital when my young adult children were home for the holiday season and how much I missed being with them and seeing them. Emily took the time to make sure I felt cared for. Over my three-day stay, she helped me get cleaned up and offered me a clean gown. She spoke with me about why I was hospitalized and what the doctors told me regarding next steps. Emily shared with me what my options were, so I felt that I had some control over my hospital stay. Nurses should be caring. Emily took the time to make sure that I felt cared for. She made me feel comfortable, and she helped me find peace in the present moment. I am grateful for the honest and intelligent answers Emily gave me to my questions and for the care that she exhibited when she was my nurse.
