Lori has shown innovation over the years to support the increasing demand for our patient panel growth, combined with creative support from her fellow nurse navigators to provide the highest and most benefit for our patients and their wellness.
Lori Thieken is the RN nurse navigator for our MCMG Pickerington office and works to support our wellness platform for our older patients. Lori has shown innovation over the years to support the increasing demand for our patient panel growth combined with creative support from her fellow nurse navigators to provide the highest and most benefit for our patients and their wellness. She is working with providers, me, and the staff to update and innovate, capturing the best information, tracking down records, and all the while supporting our team with positive energy.
On a weekly basis, she carves out time to spread focused recognition to the large staff we have. She participates in our huddles, sharing best practices to capture and care for our patient population. Above and beyond, Lori has served on our professional governance during the inaugural years, setting the stage for our colleagues to prepare and professionally share a voice in workflows, and updates that have made positive impacts on our colleagues' lives. She helped bring to fruition the MA career ladder, allowing our colleagues to achieve monetary incentives for giving back and doing more. She excels as a wellness nurse, and she has taken on the Colleague Engagement Committee of our large Pickerington office. She provides direction to a team of 3 other colleagues that plan, prepare, and provide our events, recognition, and colleague engagement by providing things our teams look forward to on a monthly basis. Nothing is left uncelebrated under Lori's watch.
Lori supports by training our colleagues quarterly on skills days promoting competency and support as well as shared learning for our colleagues to be on top of their clinical competencies as well as sharing her ' get it correct ' message about charting, performing clinical duties and reminding our team members at large to ' be safe' themselves and to keep the patients safe. She is always generating ideas to make our office function smarter and better with our wellness progress. During the new updates for our AWV templates - she provides a direct and constant line of communication and source of truth for our providers to stay on top of the new updates required to capture the best outcomes for our wellness patients.
Lori is always willing to volunteer in our community. She signs up to hand out information about Mount Carmel at our community festivals and recently accepted an invitation to go with me to the Chamber of Commerce for Pickerington. At this meeting our city mayor of Pickerington shared his vision for our city and the growth expected. This generated ideas from Lori regarding our new office planned to open in 2026. Lori frequently onboards new colleagues, in our office and other offices. She is accurate, always has a smile and is our office cheerleader. She shares this with our community at community events as well. I have been working with our Central Ohio Sector partnership for the past few years, and Lori most recently devoted two days to supporting an event at the EXPO center where we had over 2000 high school students from all over Ohio attend and get an innovative hands-on experience to help them decide a pathway to healthcare. These two days were filled with lots of energy, and Lori thrives in teaching and helping. She was supportive of these students. I have worked with Lori for going on 5 years now, she has been with Mount Carmel for over 6 years, and she just continues to share a positive message with all she comes into contact with.
