I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the care and compassion shown to me during my stillbirth labor. Shayna’s skills and knowledge were invaluable, but it was her empathy and kindness that truly made the difference. She held my hand as the doctor confirmed there were no fetal tones on the ultrasound, she let me sob into her shoulder until my husband could get to the hospital. She allowed us space to hold each other while we processed what was happening, but was also only a moment away when we needed her. Shayna’s support and understanding helped guide me through my darkest moment, and I will never forget how she was there for me as a pillar when I felt the world fall apart around me.

When it was time for shift change, she checked in with us and assured us she would be back in the morning. The next day, she was there to see our baby girl and connect with us before we were discharged home. Shayna allowed us time with our daughter, as much as we needed, before we said goodbye. We never felt rushed and only felt compassion from our nursing staff during our stay. Shayna is a huge asset to the labor and delivery ward at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. She left a lasting impact on our lives, and we are forever grateful. Thank you, Shayna, for being there for me and my husband during such a heartbreaking time.
