It was nearly midnight, hours past his shift, but Patrick still stopped by to make sure I was okay before he wearily left for home.
I would first like to say that I had the most incredible care during my recent stay at Kona Community Hospital. I wish that each and everyone from doctors to the housekeeping staff could be rewarded. But I would have to say that Patrick is probably the one who stood out.

Before arriving at the ER, we were scheduled to go on a cruise to New Zealand. We, of course, had to cancel all of our reservations. Patrick showed such concern and such compassion over our situation. No matter how busy he was (and the hospital was at full capacity), he would peek in and out to make sure I was doing okay. He would come in, sit or stand for a moment, hold my hand, and check if there was anything I needed or wanted. He asked me when my flights were, could I catch another flight, where does the cruise travel to.

He came by to inform me that they had three critical patients and it would be a while before he could get back to me. It was nearly midnight, hours past his shift, but he still stopped by to make sure I was okay before he wearily left for home. I have been a patient at Kona Community Hospital before, and the improvements have been noticeable. A big Mahalo to everyone who cared for me during my stay.
