There are many times during my new grad training and since that I have brought situations or skills to her, and she has not only helped but given me tools to be better. One that stands out is a rapid response that didn't sit right with me. I had questions and thoughts about not only how I handled it but also how others involved did as well. Not only did she listen but we discussed the situation and ways it could have been smoother. I also had a rough time with transitioning to the IV needles as they weren't what I am used to while in school. She took the time to show me the differences, give me advice on how to be successful and encouraged me to keep trying. Louise shows support, a gentle ear, and experience that allows those who are not only new but have been doing it for a while to gain the confidence and advice needed in an ever-changing environment. She gives you the opportunity to grow and cheers you on as you do. I truly believe I won't be the nurse I am today without the support she gave and continues to give. We are all lucky to have someone like her, who gives so much support and experience to both new grads and those of us who have a few years under our belt. Thank you, Louise, for all you do!
