Felicia sat down and explained every little detail to us and kept reassuring me that this was not my fault, and he was going to be ok.
After a traumatic labor and worrisome birth, we were feeling defeated and stressed beyond measure, as we didn't know what was going to happen with our sweet baby boy. Felicia's compassion and kindness were on a whole new level. As a very anxious mother, who hadn't had a baby in 10 years, I felt like a new mom again, and it was like feeling all those emotions for the first time! God knew I needed someone like her during the thick of things to care for my baby and me! When I walked into the NICU and saw my baby with a feeding tube, intubated, IV in the head, wires and tubes coming from all different places, I felt a deep panic, and all I could do was cry. I felt like it was all my fault. Felicia sat down and explained every little detail to us and kept reassuring me that this was not my fault, and he was going to be ok. She never once made me feel like I was annoying her with my repeated questions. She always had an upbeat attitude, and you could tell she thoroughly loves her job! She was incredibly kind, and I needed that. Thank goodness for caring nurses like her!
