In August I received the diagnosis of Metastatic breast cancer. The diagnosis came after a paracentesis, where fluid was drained from my abdomen. Naomi has been my angel through this process. Each of the surgeons and nurses who have taken care of me has treated me like I was their "special" patient. Naomi, however, has been with me through several paracenteses and, most recently, thoracentesis. She took the time to know me as a patient. At times when she questioned if I was adequately reporting my pain, she would look to my husband to get his input. She had me figured out. I was an underreporter. She worked efficiently with each of the four doctors to ensure my procedures went smoothly. She shared valuable information with them about past paracentesis. I felt safe under her care.  I could laugh or cry. Naomi met me where I was. At the end of each appointment, she would say to me, "Now remember, if you need to get in sooner, just let us know." Thank you, Naomi, for being my Angel.
