My 85-year-old mom was brought to the ER, and we learned she had suffered a stroke. She was transferred to three S. from ICU after a few days, and I had to return to work, which was difficult to do as I didn’t want to leave her alone all day. Then I met Fatima. She brought much care and comfort not only to my mom but also to me. I would leave notes to my mom, and she would make sure she read them. Fatima would give detailed information about how she ate that day, as you’re having difficulty getting her to eat. The biggest piece of mind was when I called on my lunch break from work, and she used the iPad to allow my mom to FaceTime with me, and I could see how well she was being cared for. This nurse took the time to provide the care and comfort that I would provide to my mom. She has an amazing bedside manner, a peaceful tone of voice, and a gentle hand. I found such relief having to leave my mom during the day, knowing that she was in Fatima's care (I would sit at 8 AM and leave soon thereafter for work). All of the nurses provided wonderful care, but I will be forever grateful to this nurse and the individualized care that she provided to my mom. I honestly can’t express in words how thankful I am for her.
