Janelle made me feel like I mattered. As an incarcerated man coming to the hospital, I was afraid that I would be treated badly and not receive the care I needed because I would be judged. Janelle treated me as a human from the start. When she entered my room and said that she was my nurse and she would take care of me, she truly did just that.
