Cyndi was incredibly caring and thoughtful in the care of a patient that had very limited resources and had been transferred to us from an outlying hospital so she could be close to her very preterm infant in the NICU. She didn't have anyone to help her get her medications before discharge and had financial barriers to obtaining the medicines she needed. Cyndi expertly coordinated care with social work and the pharmacy, evaluating the resources available and the options we could offer the patient on a weekend shift without many resources. When no one else could help the patient, Cyndi walked down to the Walgreens and picked up the patient's medications for her so she could manage her pain while she bonded with her preterm baby in the NICU. She even spoke with the pharmacy and figured our alternate OTC medications the patient could use when she could not afford a specific prescribed medicine. I deeply respect and appreciate the commitment and compassion it takes to go the extra mile to ease the patient's way. Thank you for your amazing work, Cyndi.
