The first morning I was on the floor, Adele came into my room to introduce herself. I saw right away why she is a nurse. Her personality is light, yet she tells it like it is. She had answers to questions for me right away, and as different tests were coming up, she told me just what to expect. She maintained her energy throughout all the 12-hour shifts we shared. She also showed a great working relationship with others, no matter if they were nurses’ assistants or young men from transport. Adele is a great patient advocate and rallies for them. When I was going for a procedure that made me nervous and anxious, she calmed my nerves by explaining it.

When I was admitted, it was due to a mass discovered in my gallbladder. I didn’t know this at the time. Adele demonstrated warmth and comfort, along with a great sense of humor. When it was discovered it wasn’t a mass, she celebrated with my wife and me. I felt like she was a family member. She guided me through the next series of tests, helping me to understand what was to be done. Her compassion and dedication to me and other patients deserve great appreciation and recognition. Thank you, Adele- in my book, you are a superstar!
