There are times that we as professionals need to step back and take the time to recognize some of the extraordinary nurses that work with us on a daily basis and celebrate them. The care and compassion that this person shows to their patients daily goes without saying, but this Thanksgiving, they took it to the next level of excellence. As nurses, we are the patients' advocates and the doctors' eyes and ears. This nurse relentlessly pushed for further testing on a patient after their careful assessment revealed a change in condition unrelated to the admission diagnosis. I truly believe this saved this woman’s life by her efforts as the patient continues to now improve and heal in the ICU. Wow! Thank you, and GREAT JOB!
