She always goes above and beyond for our patients and staff, and patients want to ensure she is recognized for her great work.
I received the following email from the Assistant Nurse Manager on 1West regarding the exemplary care and compassion Lindsay Umeda showed to their patient during a possible change in the level of care that this patient needed. She always goes above and beyond for our patients and staff, and patients want to ensure she is recognized for her great work.

I wanted to share a Kudos from one of our staff to the transport nurse, Lindsay Umeda.
1West had a patient to be taken to CT for suspected TIA rule out due to ongoing headache and nausea, but no facial deficits; patient also had MRI ordered.
Transport nurse Lindsay came to help transport the patient to CT. When she was apprised of the situation by another nurse and his concerns, Lindsay advocated to take the patient directly from CT to MRI and even got all of the patient’s valuables ready and on the gurney in anticipation of a transfer to the Neuro unit or ICU post-scans. The MRI revealed the presence of infarcts, and the patient was able to move smoothly and without delay to the appropriate unit for his care needs. Kudos to Lindsay for her care and advocacy for every patient she helps, regardless of her role.
Thank you for all you do!
