Her light, her smile, and her spirit are wonderful things to experience when being in such a dark place.
Jessie is an absolute angel among us! The amount of compassion, kindness, and respect that she shows everyone – not just myself but with other patients and staff, I have never experienced before. Her patience is exceptional. I had an incident with my blood pressure and Jessie never left my side, she kept me safe and calm, talked to me, and held my hand – all the while, trying to coordinate my care, take care of other patients, and communicate with staff. She stayed hours past her shift to ensure I got safely to the ER. It takes a very special person to be able to do all of that. Her light, her smile, and her spirit are wonderful things to experience when being in such a dark place. I will never forget her or the care she gave me. Thank you, Jessie!

She was super supportive and caring to me. I was feeling lightheaded and dizzy, and she right away took care of me. She took my BP and all, then explained to me that I was okay medical-wise and went on to explain what was going on, that is was related to a new med they put me on. Another time, she was the only one to notice I was having a “bad day,” high anxiety, upset, picking at my stitches and all. She pulled me aside to talk one-on-one to calm me down. She is a nurse who is caring, goes above and beyond and is good at what she does.

She is super kind and friendly, like all the nurses here. She has one thing about herself that makes her different. She does help with everything. Nothing is “not her job”. I have had other nurses say, "That’s the Psych Tech’s job," and make me wait for something that would take them 5 seconds to do. With Jessie, it’s just different. She will help with anything, even if it’s “not her job.” She always has a smile and an ear to listen. She deserves this award because of her above and beyond compassion and attentiveness to her patients.

From the time I walked in until I left, these are just a few RNs who treated me, held my hand, sat with me when I cried, calmed me down when I was escalating, and listened to me vent loudly but never raised their voice to me. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew – even when I wanted something I couldn’t have. They calmly answered and reminded me to look at my dogs, which are my world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
