The attentive staff got right to work, assessing his injuries, stabilizing him, and making him as comfortable as possible. Amy Shane was one of the staff members who regularly gave my husband updates on the findings of the tests and communicated with him about what might happen next. All the while, she would check his pain level to make sure everything was being done to minimize the effect of his traumatic injury.

My husband was moved from the ER to a hospital room to continue being monitored on bedrest while waiting for surgery that could not be performed for several days due to bleeding and swelling. Amy continued to follow up with my husband in the hospital setting. She made sure that if there were any medications that were being computer generated to be given in the middle of the night, she changed the dosing schedule so that he could sleep without interruption. She suggested a medication strategy for him to consider when being transferred from Eden Hospital to another hospital for his surgery.
