Bebi is an RN who currently works as a Utilization Review Case Manager, but she will always be a critical care nurse at heart. She is the most kindhearted and generous person that you will ever meet.  Her first instinct is to make sure anyone she comes in contact with feels welcome and cared for. She immediately takes action when she is asked to do anything. 

Recently, our department was called to accounting to speak with an upset person. Normally, when we are called to a situation like that, it is related to a hospital bill, so she just immediately went, no questions asked. When she got there, she realized that it wasn't that type of situation. This patient had been discharged from the ER and has had a long history of psychiatric issues. She was demanding help and refusing to leave the accounting building. Instead of saying not my area, not my job, she calmly spoke with the patient, de-escalated the situation and made every effort to assist the person in getting where she wanted to go. This included calling the clinic the patient wanted to go to and making sure she could be seen, as well as attempting to provide her with transportation.  From the reports of the staff that were present, she was wonderful and calming to them as well as the patient. All ended well, with the patient being taken to the clinic.

This is only one example of the things Bebi is willing to do. She is the first to gather a goody basket if one of our staff members or staff family members is in the hospital. She is also ALWAYS going to make sure anyone who needs it is fed. I wish I was half as giving as she is. I am blessed to have her as a lifelong friend as well as a co-worker. Our hospital is better because of people like her.
