You can tell that she loves her job and, most of all, loves being a nurse and helping people feel safe, educated, and truly cared for from her heart.
I receive an infusion at least once a month and had a chance to not only have Marisa as a nurse but also watch how she treats and works with other patients, Infusion Center staff, and volunteers. Marisa is strong in her knowledge of the different medications and what her patient needs, and she always takes the time for her patients to talk, cry, or vent. She always seems to know what to say to the patients to calm them down and make them feel better. You can tell that she loves her job and, most of all, loves being a nurse and helping people feel safe, educated, and truly cared for from her heart. When a patient is receiving an infusion, she will come into the area at least every 5 minutes just to see if you are all right or if you need anything. If she senses you need anything, even if you cannot put it into words, she will sit by you and talk with you to figure out what you need and always tries her best to get you what you and sometimes your extenuating family needs. She helps fill you in on the best way to handle all of your needs, and if she cannot help, she will put you in touch with someone who can help you.
