I have been a patient of Dr. Shrum's for over a decade. Most of that time Tia has been her nurse. That means she has seen me through 2 surgeries, and 5 pregnancies. She is always a welcoming, smiling face. She listens carefully to what I have to say and makes sure the doctor is aware of my concerns. A lot of patients see Dr. Shrum and for that reason, I know Tia must be incredibly busy, but she never seems rushed and always makes time for what is needed. Whether that is a listening ear, calling patients back, or answering many mychart messages (mine included!) she does it with a positive attitude. I have personally had her call me very late into the evening as though she had to stay very late to finish her work but still sounded so pleasant (and I greatly appreciated not waiting until the next day for important lab results). I have also had her several times so kindly work me in to see my very busy doctor when it appeared to the front desk personnel there was no way to do so. I believe office nurses are unsung heroes who should be acknowledged for their hard work on behalf of their patients!
