Brianna was working the ER when I was brought in by ambulance due to a car accident-front end collision. I was put into the trauma room, and she was quick to start talking to me to try to calm me down and to help get my pain under control. Even though, there was a lot of chaos at the time, she continued to give me as much information as she could. While this, in itself, isn’t out of the ordinary for any nurse, it was what she did next that was. Once I was stable and waiting on a transfer to Strong, she overheard my husband and I talking about my car, trying to figure out where it was towed to so he could get our personal belongings out of it, and get the insurance company the information it would require. She stepped out of the trauma room and a little bit later she came back with who towed my car and where it was towed to with address and the phone number. It was not her job to track down that information, but it did leave a lasting impression as it helped us with the daunting task of dealing with the insurance company and claims. It was one less thing we had to figure out in a time of chaos. She might not see that as doing more than what was required, but it certainly was, and we are grateful that she did.
